Phrases and such

I've thought of a few more commonly heard phrases of Keira's and I want to get them in print before I forget!

"Know what that is, Mommy?"--This is actually the first question she started asking and the phrase that inspired me to do the first blog post documenting her phrases a few weeks ago. Of course, when I sat down to write that post, I forgot this phrase! There's no way to fully document the cuteness of this phrase in words though, but just imagine her running all the words together and you'll get the idea!

"Waaay too much!"--She says this a lot now in different contexts, but she originally started repeating it after she had fed Jack and filled his bowl too full. I said, "Oh, that's way too much!" and now it's a regular part of her vocabulary!

"Hear a noisy sound"--She says this all the time now whenever she hears any type of "noisy" or "unusual" sound.

"Listen music" or "Dancing music"--She LOVES music and dancing, so this is a common phrase in the house!

"Mommy, hold you Jack"--Translation: "Mommy, I want you to hold Jack (so I can pet him!)." If I am not holding Jack, he will just run away when she tries to pet him. This phrase is cute because it shows how she mixes up the pronouns.

Something else I've noticed recently is that her pronunciation of words is getting better, which is good, but it means we're losing the cute baby talk. Some examples are...she used to say "Ee me, Mommy" when she was trying to get by me and I was in the way, but now she says, "Excuse me, Mommy." She also used to say "Ese," although I'm not really sure how to spell it to get the cuteness across, but now she can say the full word: suitcase. My favorite though is her word for banana: "namnee" and I am very happy that she still says it in her unique and cute way!

Notice the magnadoodle drawing--what does that look like to you?
An apple of course!
At friend school a couple weeks ago, she learned all about apples. Then, a few days ago, she drew this and said, "Apple!" Then she said, "Apple stem!"
She is so proud!

And finally, a few videos! Hopefully these are in the correct order! The videos show her "reading" the Maisy book from memory (similar to the one I posted on FB).

It is fun to watch her grow and change, but a little sad that she is growing up so fast!!

Mommy & Me Tuesday

I didn't take as many pictures at preschool this morning, but trust me when I say it was a lot of fun! Who knew that a salad spinner can be used to make awesome spin art?! Now I know!!

Keira knows the routine of preschool now and as we were cleaning up the classroom when playtime was over, she said "Snack" and then "Goodbye song." She was right about the schedule, but once we finished singing the goodbye song, she started whining and saying "More! More school!" All the way out to the car, she kept whining and moaning "More school." I'm glad she loves it so much!!

The water is actually black to celebrate Halloween week!
It also has lots of sparkly glitter and other things in it!
Keira loved this and proceeded to get all wet!

Today's them was CIRCLES!

More fun with play-doh!

Scooping marbles into the egg crate.

Fun on the tire swing!

Friend School is Awesome!

We've started saying "Friend School" to refer to the preschool co-op we are doing every Friday with our 3 friends. Last Friday was our 2nd week and the theme was APPLES! Keira loved it!

Opening circle time!
The kids are learning how apples grow on trees!

Yay for flannel boards!

And even a climbing wall!
WOW!

Happy Fall!

This past weekend we took a trip to Oma's Farm, which is a dairy farm in East County that gets transformed into a pumpkin patch during the fall season.

Here are a few pics...

Sliding down "cottonseed mountain"

"Milking" a (pretend) cow

Picking out the perfect pumpkin to take home

Happy Fall!

And the Fun Continues...

This week at preschool, they had set up a mini "pumpkin patch" for the kiddos.
Each kid got to pick out a small pumpkin to take home!

This climbing wall is pretty challenging, but so fun!

The spider web--so fun to climb!

Lots of different types of beans

Maybe she's trying to imitate the pumpkin face?

Always a puzzle fan!
Notice how the small triangle is next to the large triangle in the corner of the paper? She said it was the baby triangle snuggling with the mommy & when I tried to place them on the correct spots on the paper, she moved them back to "snuggle."

The theme of the day was bubbles!

She discovered the dress up clothes!

Closing circle--time to dance!

Bustin' a move!

Can't Get Enough Preschool!

Last Friday we started our "co-op preschool" with 3 other friends. Every Friday, each of us moms will host the group and lead that day's lessons. Mackenzie & Ella kicked things off at their house and our first day of preschool was a huge success!!

Opening circle time!
Introducing the day's theme: pumpkins!

The kids were enthralled with circle time!
Notice their circle mats , which was their designated space to sit on.

After circle was activity time! One of the activities was painting outside!
Other activities were color sorting and reading books.

Ella loves painting!

Another activity was discovering, "what's inside a pumpkin?"

Keira wasn't too sure about this one!

Next up: snack time!

Those circle mats worked wonders for keeping the kids in their space!

Next was outside time! We went on a discover walk and found various items (pine cones, flowers, etc), drew with chalk, and blew bubbles.

Back inside, it was time for crafts!

Hard at work, crafting "what's inside a pumpkin?"
So fun!!

The noodles were good to eat too!

Next was painting pumpkins!

I'd say Keira had a GREAT time!!
