Fall Favorite

Fall is such a fun time of year and one of our favorite family traditions is going to Apple Hill with Noah's family.  We didn't make it up last year, so this year we were so happy to go up to Noah's mom's in early October to celebrate Jonathan's birthday and spend the day at Apple Hill!

This was an extra relaxing weekend for me because Nana took Keira's monitor and tended to Keira during the night and woke up with her in the morning!  Awesome!

Spending special morning time with Nana!

Nana has the best toys!

Happy Birthday, Jonathan!

Our traditional first stop at Apple Hill--Abel's!

Come on Nana, I'll show you the way out!

Lots of great photo ops!

Whenever there's a chance for face painting, Keira is all in!

Willy & I were wiped out from all the festivities

The next afternoon we spent some time at a great park and met up with a childhood friend of Noah's and their family (they also have a 3-yr-old girl!).

Fun in the sand with Isabel

Back at Nana's, it was time to help make mashed potatoes for dinner!

And then a special bedtime routine with Nana!

What a fun fall family weekend!!

Recent Happenings

Life just keeps rolling along and my list of blog post ideas just keeps growing and growing. I am starting to accept the fact that I will never be caught up!

Here are some pics from recent happenings around here.

We still thoroughly enjoy the fact that Noah is done with school and we get more family time together!  These pics are from an impromptu Sunday afternoon outing to the zoo!

We learned on Cat in the Hat that giraffes' tongues are so long they can lick their nostrils.
Yep, we got to see it for ourselves!

Monkeying around

Up close and personal with a lion!
Good thing there was a thick wall of glass in between us!

Skyfari!

This is how polar bears feel about living in San Diego

I've been trying to give Keira a mini preschool experience here at home, so these are some pics from our "Mommy School" mornings.

Keira chose the first subject: STARS & we had fun together!

Stars in the night sky

Putting the stars in number order

Star puzzle

Decorating a star

Star sandwich!

Here is our lesson about apples!

She loves cutting and gluing!
(Didn't get a pic of the finished product of this one).

Pumpkins!

Practicing the letter P
(Note: she only wrote 3 P's and then was done! I am def not pushing handwriting at this age!).

She loves matching!

These pics are from a trip to Julian to go apple picking.
The trip was a bit stressful and rushed, so we don't have the most positive memories of it (I wasn't feeling well, it was hot, and lots of miscommunication), but nevertheless, it was nice to take Keira to Julian. Next time, we hope to have more time to spend there and have a more relaxed experience.  :)

Checking out some chickens

Mmmm...delicious!

On our way out, we stopped at Mom's for some cinnamon ice cream!
It was sooooooo yummy!!

Will smile for ice cream!

More updates to come soon!!
