Gymboree!

On Saturday we took Keira to her first Gymboree class and it was so much fun (well, maybe more fun for me than her, but I'm hoping it will grow on her!). I was first introduced to Gymboree a couple years ago when I attended the class with a little boy I was working with. I loved all the fun songs/music, physical activities, peer interaction, and parent involvement that the class provides and I looked forward to the day when I'd get to have my own child participate in the fun. Alas, the day has arrived and I am so excited! Here are the pictures from our first Gymboree experience!

Wow, what is this place?!
Ready...set...
Go!

Hmmm...I think that was fun...

Hi friend!

This is fun!!

Peek-a-boo!

Eeeeeeeee! Not too happy at the moment (see her teeth?)

Lots of sliding!

Oops!

Ummm....somehow I just made of a mess of the blog and now I am trying to figure out how to make it look nice again. UGH! Please bear with me as I try to figure out what went wrong and how to make it right again. :)

Play Time!

Since it has been raining here all week, we've spent most of our time at home. It's not easy to entertain a 7-month-old indoors all day for several days in a row. So, what do you do when you've played with every last toy in the house, multiple times, for several days in a row? Play with the laundry!

Laundry--how fun!

Are you sure this is okay, Mom?

Inside the basket?? Even better!!
She actually stood up once by herself when I put her in!

Last week, the weather was gorgeous (and warm!) so we went outside several times. At the park, Keira got to try the swing for the first time!

This is fun!

Well, I'm not so sure about this...

Later in the week, we tried another swing ride and she loved it--can you tell??

Weeee!

Look at her crazy hair blowing in the wind!

And even some arm-chewing action while swinging--this is the life!

Happy Zoo Year!

During New Year's weekend, we spent an afternoon at the zoo. It was our first family zoo outing and we had lots of fun! We enjoyed exploring the zoo with Keira and Noah enjoyed playing with his new camera!

So happy to be at the zoo!

Wow, all this walking around the zoo is exhausting!

Do you see the baby koala?

Hey, you have a cool hat like me!

Happy New Year!

Christmas Happenings

Aside from a few glitches along the way, we had a very merry Christmas! We tried to get the festivities started early by leaving town on the 23rd to drive up north to visit our families; unfortunately, this only got us stuck in major traffic and we did not get to have Christmas Eve Eve dinner & presents with my mom and step-dad (we made up for it the next day, although our celebration was brief since we had to also drive up to Davis that day). Other misfortunes included, Noah getting the stomach flu on Christmas Eve, which meant he didn't get to enjoy his mom's yummy traditional holiday meals. Then, at the end of the break, Noah and I both got colds. Ugh! Otherwise, our Christmas was great--it was so much fun sharing in the joy of Keira's first Christmas and getting to spend time with both of our families!

On our first stop with my family, Keira got to visit her Great Grandparents again!

Next we had a Christmas celebration with my mom.
Here she is opening presents

After Christmas Eve with my mom, we drove up to Davis to spend a few days with Noah's family. Here we are on Christmas morning before diving in to our stockings!

Why all the camera flashes?!?!

Ooh, this stocking thing is fun!

Jack and Willy assessing the chaos of flying wrapping paper

After Keira woke up from her nap, she got to open her presents, with the papparazzi standing by to capture it all on multiple cameras!

The next night, we had dinner and a game night with some longtime family friends, the Sluises. Here Keira and Isabel are meeting for the first time.

On our way back home, we stopped off to visit my family again. Here, Keira is showing off the new toys she got for Christmas to her Grandma.

And she is showing off the two bottom teeth she has coming in!
