Noah and I had the pleasure of attending a Padres game this evening! We hadn't planned to go until the last minute, but while I was browsing around the internet this afternoon, I came across a link advertising half-price tickets. So, we got a great deal on the tickets and had pretty nice seats right along the 3rd base line.
Another great highlight was getting to see Greg Maddux pitch his 350th win! This was fun for us because we were big baseball fans back in the early 90s (Noah was an A's fan and I rooted for the Giants and Braves) and we both remember watching Maddux on TV when he played for the Braves. Seeing him play live tonight was especially nostalgic for me because I remember rooting for him when I was a kid. Tonight, among all the young Padres players (many of whom we don't know), it was nice to see a familiar face and get to celebrate the milestone of his 350th career win! Way to go, Padres!

Hi Allison, I love your blog! I had to comment that two of your favorite books are mine as well...Redeeming Love and Hiding Place. I haven't read Through the Gates of Splendor but now I will. Give Jack a cuddle from me.
Alli! I love that you guys have a blog! The pictures of you guys are so great to see. You look exactly the same as when we were in college! I miss you, we should have lunch when you come up next.
I remember Maddux from the Braves too. Boy do I feel old now :) Glad y'all had a great time, and whoot on the 1/2 price tickets :)
