Noah is right in the thick of finishing his Master's final project (5 more weeks and counting!), so we don't get to see much of him right now. However, this past weekend, we got to have some family time when we went downtown to PETCO park for the Padres Fan Fest.
Fan Fest is a free event where they open the stadium to the public and you can tour the clubhouse, go down on the field, meet a few players, etc. As with any major event in the city, there were a lot of people there, but it was still fun to see the stadium "behind the scenes."
Waiting in line to go in to the stadium
Just call us VIPs
Inside the workout room
Where the players get dressed and hangout.
The room is a big circle & there's a big TV and couches in the middle.
Someone's name we actually recognize!
Walking out of the clubhouse led straight to the dugout!
Sitting on the Padres' bench!
Next, it was time to run the bases!
Going from 1st to 2nd!
Almost there!
Made it to 2nd--phew!
Safe!
Hey, look who we ran into!
Ella is on her way to 2nd base too!
Then it was time for some wrestling in the outfield!
Next, it was time to hold Ella like a baby!
And then it was Keira's turn to be held like a baby!
And a little more wrestling for good measure!
Is that more wrestling or a hug?!
View from the field
Lastly, we visited the playground and ate a picnic lunch before Noah had to get back home to work on his project.
Spinning in this funny bowl-like thing.
End result: dizzy!!!!!!!!!
See what I mean in this video:
Although it was short, we had a great morning together as a family!
Oh, and did I mention, we are VIPS? :)
Here we are in the Padres dugout--yeah!
Bring on baseball season (only 2 more months to wait!!).
:)
