Last week Keira went to her first "official" dance class!
I have been so excited about this for a long time because we have been attending free dance/movement classes at the library for a while now & Keira has enjoyed those (despite the fact that there are a bazillion kids and it is total chaos!). I couldn't wait to see how she would do in a "real" class where the class size is smaller and she actually gets to learn real dance steps. We're 2 weeks in now and she seems to really enjoy it!
Before heading out for her first class!
Modeling her leotard and tap shoes!
Teeny tiny ballet shoes!
I let her practice the tap shoes on the wood floor
(and assured Daddy we'd never do that again!)
Since she is 3-years-old, this class is a "drop-off" so I am not allowed to be inside the classroom.
Thankfully, there is an observation window (despite the black lines that run through the glass and make picture-taking a pain--hence the blur) so I can see what she's doing, which is fun! She did really great going right into class without crying or needing me to be with her--wow!
Learning how to stomp those tap shoes LOUD!
Watching & listening intently
:)
Gettin' her groove on!
These pictures are from Week 2.
Ella came by to check out the class too!
Choo-choo train!
Concentrating so hard to move her feet and hands at the same time!
Heel, tap...heel, tap
Intermission to get a drink of water and change into ballet shoes
Stretching
Learning to point those toes!
Plie!
Getting to dance with a princess wand--wow!
Learning the dance steps!
Freestyle!
