Something to Celebrate

Yesterday Noah turned the big 3-0 and we had fun celebrating his birthday!

Keira helped set the festive mood as we decorated downstairs before Noah woke up.

Noah did not have to rush off to work, so we got to enjoy a yummy breakfast together: eggs, bacon, and cinnamon rolls...mmmm...

After Noah got home from work, it was time for more celebrating! We had tacos for dinner with Noah's favorite garnish: fresh guacamole. Here is Keira joining us at the table in her booster chair. Although she isn't able to join us in partaking of the food, she is usually content to play with her toys.

Wow, that's a lot of presents!
Gotcha!

Keira got to help open a few presents. Of course, she mainly helped by putting everything in her mouth. Here they are facing the computer to chat with Noah's mom, sister, and brother via Skype. Gotta love technology!

Happy Birthday, Noah!
We love you!

And this is just a bonus from today because I love this little dress with watermelons on it!

Charger Girls

After church, Sundays at our house means football time, which means....GO CHARGERS! Keira is already a big (little) sports fan at only 4.5 months old! Here we are cheering on our favorite team:

Go Chargers!
Okay, I had to post this one too because she is just too cute for words!

In other news, Keira is getting very close to sitting up on her own. Whenever we lay her down, she fusses and does continuous ab crunches because she wants to sit up so bad. Here she is sitting on her own, with just the pillow supporting her.

Such a big girl!

Happy Halloween!

Today we enjoyed our first Halloween as a family of three! Enjoy the pictures below...

Happy baby getting ready to carve the pumpkin

Hmmm...what is this big orange thing?
I'm not too sure about this...I'll let Dad do all the work

Ewww...I don't like the pumpkin guts
(see the video below for more evidence)

This is fun, as long as I don't have to touch the gooey stuff!
(She takes after her Dad on this).
Jack participated in the carving festivities as well

In the late afternoon, we went to our church for the Fall Festival, "Treatsville"
Here she is knocking down the wall of Jericho

Oooh, do I get candy now??

Junior Engineer

Today we had the pleasure of visiting Noah at work and having lunch together. Here is our happy girl having fun in Daddy's office:

This past weekend, we took our very first plane trip with Keira and got to spend some time with our family on the redwood coast. We had a wonderful time and have lots of pictures to share--stay tuned!

You Know You're a First-Time Mom When...

...you take umpteen pictures of your first outing to a restaurant! Okay, so this event may not seem monumental to some, but it was fun for us and definitely worth capturing in pictures!

When we first arrived at Chevy's.
She had this look on her face the whole time: wide-eyed and curious.

Enthralled with all the sights.

Just chillin' in the booth
Forget my toys, I want to play with table (of course, all we're thinking is "eww, germs!").
Here are more recent pics:

Keira's latest interest is her toes!

First time in the exersaucer--not so sure about this!

Hey, this isn't so bad!

First time in her new booster seat--what a big girl!

We introduced her to Baby Einstein DVDs; here she is checking it out...

And this is what she thought of Baby Einstein...

And, finally, a video! Yes, I am a little slow, but finally realized I can add videos to the blog! Of course, whenever I break out the camera, Keira stops her antics and just stares at the camera. Noah captured this one...the angle is a bit weird because I had placed her on her belly, but then she quickly rolled over to her back. So, I am trying to coax her back onto her belly to get her toys. She didn't budge, but thought the whole process was quite funny:

Pumpkin Patch

We made a trip out to the pumpkin patch this weekend and had a lot of fun! Here are some pictures from our outing:

Just after we arrived. Keira is wide-eyed, taking in all the scenery.

Being silly!

Wondering what her mom and dad are up to....
The cutest pumpkin of them all!

Proud daddy!

Really, mom?! Another one? Of course, this time with no hat!

Happy family!

More Milestones

Our little girl is continuing to grow and this week we've experienced some exciting milestones. First off, she started sleeping in her crib in her bedroom. Let me just say that this change came more abruptly than I would have liked and we made the move more out of necessity than anything else. Up to this point, Keira has been sleeping in her bassinet next to our bed, and although she was getting close to the 15 pound limit (she's about 12 pounds now), I wasn't quite ready to move her out of our room yet. However, Noah unfortunately came down with the flu; therefore, the doctor's orders were that he stay away from Keira and I. So, she made the move to her room and I have been sleeping in the guest bedroom. Thankfully, Noah seems to be getting better and Keira and I are still healthy and feeling good.

Okay, back to the crib...so the first night, Keira did great. Except for waking up to eat about an hour after I had put her down, she slept for 7 hours straight! Since then though, the last 2 nights have been a bit more challenging. It seems that she's having a hard time falling into a deep sleep/staying asleep once I put her down because she keeps waking up. We'll keep working on it though!

The look on her face says, "What?! You mean you want me to sleep in here by myself?!"

"Okay, Mom. I'm a big girl; I can do it!"

Another big milestone occurred this afternoon when Keira rolled over for the first time! Of course, I missed the actual roll because I was (where else) at the computer. But when I turned around, I found her like this:

Shortly after this picture, I moved her closer to the middle of the play mat and she proceeded to roll herself back onto her back. She's a busy girl!!
